The Primrose
Sank in 1904, The Primrose was a steel-hulled
fishing trawler and lies in 30m of water.
It today lies a few hundred meters off the
west coast of the May Island, intact but collapsed with the highest
parts being the boilers standing a few meters high.
A good wreck for large cod conger and ling
hiding under the horizontal plates. Slack water or small tides
are required for this one or you end up doing a flag impersonation
on a force 9 so avoid Jerry Springers (spring tide floods and
ebbs). Average viz would be 5 to 7m, however, we have had 25m
one day last year which was quite unforgettable!
